Job roles
Describe the work each person does
Create job roles for the work your team performs and assign them to existing members. A job role such as Designer or Technician helps resolve a rate; it does not change workspace permissions, invite someone, or purchase a seat.
- Reusable job roles
- Existing team members
- Independent access permissions
- No change to seat billing
Rate Cards
Keep project pricing consistent
Create reusable cards with hourly billing rates and optional internal hourly costs by role, currency, and effective date. Choose a workspace default and assign a card to a project so team, time, and staffing estimates can use the relevant rate context. Review estimates in their recorded currency; a card does not perform currency conversion.
- Rates by role and currency
- Effective dates
- Workspace default and project assignment
- Billing and internal cost estimates
Private costs
Keep sensitive amounts with the right people
Owners and admins manage cards, defaults, and project assignments. Owners, admins, accountants, and managers can read billing rates; only owners, admins, and accountants can read internal costs. Changes to a card preserve the rate snapshots on historical time entries.
- Role-protected internal costs
- Billing visibility for authorized managers
- Historical time rate snapshots
- Estimates separate from actual payments
Common questions
The details to help you get started.
Which plans include Rate Cards?
Rate Cards and job roles are included with active PyME access on SaaS web. Individual and Pro do not include them. Eligible PyME trials follow their existing plan access and original deadline. Prices and paid seats are unchanged.
Does a job role change a member’s permissions?
No. Job roles describe work for rates and estimates. Owner, Admin, Accountant, Manager, and Staff remain separate workspace access roles. Owners, admins, and managers manage job roles and member assignments.
Who can see internal costs?
Only authorized owners, admins, and accountants. Managers can review billing rates without access to private internal costs. Staff do not gain access to cards or costs through a job-role assignment, project team, or time entry.
Do these amounts run payroll or charge a client?
No. Billing and cost estimates support internal project planning. They do not determine wages, run payroll, pay staff or vendors, charge clients, file taxes, or connect bank accounts. Review estimates and any resulting draft invoice before using them.
Will a new rate change historical time?
New time entries start with a manual rate. On PyME, choose Use role / Rate Card to apply an available automatic billing rate, or keep a manual override. Existing entries keep their saved rates until you explicitly change or recalculate them. Changing a card alone preserves historical time-entry snapshots. Planned labor amounts are estimates, separate from recorded work, payments, and payroll. Ops mobile parity is deferred, and customer surfaces do not expose cards or private costs.
